Tren del Valle, a commuter rail service in the west-central region of Argentina, was opened. This transit line, which runs trains on tracks belonging to the General Roca Railway, connects the cities of Plottier, Neuquén, and Cipoletti.
The public officials taking part in the official launch of Tren del Valle included Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who was president of Argentina from December 2007 to December 2015 and has been the country’s vice president since December 2019. She presided over the Tuesday morning inauguration of Tren de Valle via a videoconference.
Tren del Valle covers a total of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). This service is operated by the state-owned company Trenes Argentinos.
